DIY Giant Christmas Ornaments Using Bouncy Balls!

Have you ever seen those giant Christmas ornaments in stores and fallen in love with them — only to see the price tag and think, “No way!”? Here’s a hack to create your own oversized ornaments with just a few simple materials. Let’s turn this idea into reality!

Materials You’ll Need:

  • Large bouncy balls (the size you want for your ornaments)
  • Plastic Tupperware (for the ornament top)
  • Spray paint (in your favorite festive colors)
  • Metal wire (to create the hook)
  • Hot glue gun or strong adhesive

Step 1: Spray Paint the Bouncy Balls

Start by giving your bouncy balls a coat of spray paint in any festive color you like. Red, green, silver, and gold all work great. Be sure to spray evenly and let it dry completely. You might need a couple of coats for full coverage.

Step 2: Prep the Tupperware for the Ornament Top

Take your Tupperware and spray paint it a metallic color, like silver or gold. This will become the “cap” of your ornament. Once it’s dry, attach it to the top of the bouncy ball with hot glue or strong adhesive.

Step 3: Add the Wire for the Hook

Cut a small piece of metal wire and shape it into a loop or hook. Attach it securely to the top of the Tupperware lid with glue or by poking it through if the material is thin enough.

Step 4: Display Your Giant Ornaments

Once everything is dry, find a spot to hang or display your ornaments! They make a great statement piece for porches, yards, or even indoors if you have the space.

@makeitwithmicah DIY Giant Christmas Ornaments 🎄 Tips for the project: • The only spray paint that worked for me was metallic colors. I tried glossy red and glossy pink and they both never dried completely and were sticky. You could hand paint with acrylic or chalk but I think it would get messy. Or you can look for balls that are already the desired colors. • Hot glue made the ball pop, at least mine did. I used super glue to adhere the top, but it has to set/cure for 24 hours so make sure you have your balls set up somewhere where they can be left alone. I used wide bowls to set my balls in while the tops dried.
