Ever wish you could keep your furry (or scaly, or feathered!) friend close to your heart, or, well, your sleeve? I’m here to tell you, you absolutely can! At Pet Stop Prints, I’m all about celebrating our beloved pets, and lately, I’ve been obsessed with a particular design: the custom pet portrait sleeve shirt.
Why I’m Loving This Design
I recently added this design to my shop, thinking it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, but honestly? I think it’s got year-round potential. Here’s why:
- It’s Subtle: Let’s face it, sometimes you want to show off your pet love without screaming it from the rooftops. This design is perfect for that. It’s a regular shirt with a little *secret* on the sleeve.
- It’s Unique: Everyone’s got a pet portrait *somewhere* in their house. But how many people do you know rocking a custom portrait on their sleeve? Exactly!
- It’s Versatile: Dog, cat, hamster, iguana… doesn’t matter! Any pet can be immortalized on a sleeve. I’m all about celebrating all creatures big and small.
This design, the *very* first one I ever made, ended up on a blue T-shirt. That meant it was time for some good ol’ hands-on creation!
The Process: From Idea to Wearable Art
Creating these shirts is a labor of love, and I wanted to give you a peek behind the curtain. So, here’s how it goes:
- Printing and Cutting: First, I print out the custom design and carefully cut it out. Precision is key here!
- Taping Time: Next, I meticulously tape the design onto the shirt. When a design is on the sleeve, this process is doubled.
- The Press: This is where the magic happens. I press the shirt for 65 seconds at 385 degrees, using firm pressure. It’s a hot job, but totally worth it!
- Peel and Repeat: After the front is done, it’s sleeve time! I insert a sheet into the sleeve to prevent the design from bleeding through. Then, it’s the same process: tape, press, and peel.
And *voila!* You’ve got a custom pet portrait shirt ready to rock!
More Than Just a Shirt: It’s a Conversation Starter
The best part about these shirts? They’re conversation starters. People might not notice the portrait at first glance, but when they do, it’s always a fun moment. “Wait, is that…your *gerbil* on your sleeve?” You bet it is!
It’s a great way to share your pet love and maybe even inspire others to do the same. Check out our trending designs.
Why the Sleeve? A Personal Touch
I’ve always been drawn to things that are a little different, a little unexpected. And I think the sleeve placement achieves just that. It’s a subtle nod to your pet, a way to keep them close without being overly flashy.
Plus, there’s something inherently cool about having a custom design on your sleeve. It’s like wearing your heart on your sleeve, but, you know, with a picture of your cat instead.
So, What Do You Think?
Seriously, though, I’m curious. If you had a pet, *any* pet, would you wear something like this? And if so, what would the portrait look like? Would it be a goofy picture of your dog mid-sneeze? Or a regal portrait of your cat lounging on a velvet cushion?
I can’t wait to find out! This design might become a year-round staple, so I’m looking forward to seeing what awesome pets end up on your sleeves.

What would you wear on your sleeve if you had a customI wear my heart on my sleeve shirt?I recently added this design to my shop for shirts and crew necks. It’s part of the Valentine designs, but it might be a year round design. We’ll see how it goes. This was the first one I ever made. They chose on a blue T-shirt,so I had to print out and cut the designand then tape it onto the shirt.Once there’s a design on the sleeve, will have to do this process twice. After I get it all lined up and tape down,I press the shirt for 65 seconds at 385 degrees, pretty firm pressure, and then after that,we’ll peel it off and move on to the sleeve. The sleeve is basically the same process. You’ll put a sheet in the arm sleeveso the design does not go on to the backside. And then, just like the front of the shirt, you just tape it down as usual,do it for 65 seconds,385 degrees, very firm pressure, and then peel it off. Then you have your final shirt. The reason I really like this designis because it’s a little more subtle.you don’t necessarily know that you have a pet portrait on your shirtyet until you see the sleeve, and sometimes people prefer it that way.So what do you guys think? If you had a pet, would you Wear something like thisand it doesn’t have to just be a dog.It can be any pet.video
