1. White Spandex Shorts

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform is known for its signature white shorts. You can recreate this with a pair of white spandex shorts, which are comfortable, form-fitting, and give you that cheerleader-ready look. These are super easy to find on Amazon, and they often come in various sizes, so you can size up if you want a looser, low-waisted fit.

Pro Tip: Opt for high-waisted shorts for a modern twist, or size up for a low-waisted look, which mimics the authentic costume.

2. Thick White Belt

Next up is the thick white belt, which is a staple in the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform. You can add an extra layer of authenticity by grabbing a belt that’s thick enough to stand out, and if you’re going for a lower-waisted look, you might want to size up.

To really nail the look, you’ll also want to iron on stars to your belt. You can find star iron-ons on Amazon, which come in packs and are super easy to use. Just follow the instructions, and you’ll have that classic cheerleader starry belt in no time.

3. Star Iron-ons

Speaking of stars, they don’t stop at the belt! You’ll need to grab a few packs of these iron-on stars to add to both your belt and the vest or shirt you choose to wear. They’re inexpensive and give your costume that authentic Dallas Cowboys cheerleader vibe. Just make sure to position them evenly, and you’ll look like you’re part of the squad.

4. The Vest or Shirt (DIY Hack)

Now, let’s talk about the vest. The signature blue vest is definitely one of the trickier parts to recreate, but I’ve got a quick fix for you. I found a blue shirt on Amazon that has a similar color and look to the original. All you have to do is cut it down the middle to give it that open vest effect. Add your stars to the front, and you’re all set!

If you want to go the extra mile, you can also add some frayed edges or tie the bottom of the shirt to give it that vintage cheerleader flair.

5. Pom Poms

What’s a cheerleader without her pom poms? No Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume is complete without these. Amazon has plenty of affordable pom poms in different sizes and colors. Opt for blue and white pom poms to match the team’s colors. Not only do they complete the look, but they’re also a fun accessory to carry around at parties.

6. Cowboy Boots

For footwear, nothing screams “Dallas Cowboys” more than a pair of cowboy boots. If you already have a pair, that’s perfect! If not, don’t worry—there are plenty of options online, or you can even use a pair of over-the-boot covers to achieve the same look without spending too much. Whether you go for ankle boots or knee-highs, cowboy boots really seal the deal on this outfit.

7. Dancer’s Tights (for Comfort and Tan)

Here’s a little insider tip for you: get yourself some dancer’s tights! These will not only make you look tanner (a key part of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader look), but they also add an extra layer of comfort when you’re showing a bit of skin. They’re sheer, durable, and add a polished, professional look to your costume.

8. Finishing Touches

Now that you’ve got the main pieces of your costume down, it’s time to add a few final touches to really pull everything together:

Hair: The iconic Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are known for their voluminous, bouncy hair. If you have long hair, consider curling it with loose waves to give it that cheerleader bounce. If not, a wig with soft curls can also work.

Makeup: Go for a glam look with bold eyeliner, long lashes, and a pop of nude or pink lipstick to complement the outfit.

Confidence: This costume is all about spirit, so don’t forget to wear it with confidence! Own the look and have fun with it.

Conclusion

There you have it—a step-by-step guide to recreating the classic Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume with items from Amazon. With some DIY magic and a few key accessories, you’ll have a stunning and fun Halloween look that’s sure to be a hit at any party. Remember, it’s all about embracing the cheerleader spirit, so smile, have fun, and cheer your way through the night!

Now go grab those pom poms and get ready to be the star of the show!

all right, so my most popular Halloween costume by far has been my Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. here it is. unfortunately, they discontinued the costume, but I’m gonna show you guys how to recreate this from stuff from Amazon. it’s all linked, you know, you know what I’m saying? so first you can get some white spandex and you can get a thick white belt size up. if you want to wear this costume low waisted. then you’re gonna get these little iron on stars. you can iron them on the belt and the vest or the undershirt. I found this. I think it looks really similar. if you just, like, don’t have those electric bits. now, the vest is definitely the hardest part. I found this shirt, and I think if you just, like, cut it down the middle. it will give you the exact look of the vest, especially with the, like, little embroidered stars and stuff. of course, you have to add the pom poms boots. they were cowboy boots that I work over boots when I wear the costume. and this is my tip. get dancers, tights to wear under it. it’ll make you look way more tan and make you feel a lot more comfortable when you’re showing 1t of skin. so there you go.
